What is Cosmelan / Dermamelan?
Cosmelan and Dermamelan are medical peels that are suitable for every skin type and provide depigmentation. With one big difference and that is that you can achieve a greater result with dermamelan in a shorter time. The exposure time of the Dermamelan mask is four hours and the process is two months shorter than with Cosmelan. Because the Dermamelan treatment is 30% stronger than a Cosmelan treatment, it may only be performed by registered skin therapists and doctors. Cosmelan and Dermamelan work on the deeper pigment cells by inhibiting the enzyme that causes pigmentation.
The product ensures that the production of melanocytes is inhibited. In addition, it simultaneously ensures the reconstruction and renewal of your skin layer. Because of this, it also has a strong anti-aging effect.
During the process, your aftercare protocol at home is very important and that is why all products are included in your treatment.
Treatment timeline
Preparatory phase 48 hours to 1 week in advance of cosmelan/dermamelan skin preparation.
Phase 1; intense depigmentation; cosmelan or dermamelan peeling in salon. Recovery 48 hours to 1 week.
Phase 2; Continuous depigmentation
Phase 3; Pigmentation regulation
Phase 4; Control
The first two days the skin may be red, itchy and feel burning. This is a normal reaction and certainly during the first 24-48 hours after starting the treatment.
After three days, the home products are started. The medical cream will have to be applied twice a day. In the beginning, the skin will have to get used to this, and redness, swelling, flaking and a burning sensation may occur.
The products should be used for four to six months for optimal results.
